Riding in only his second G1, Cieren Fallon aged 21 won his first G1 on Oxted in the July Stakes.
It was a first G1 too for trainer Roger Teal whose family are very much involved with the horse. It was a very good performance and left Sceptical and Golden Horde with a view of Oxted's hindquarters and Frankie Dettori still with a gap in his trophy cabinet as this is the only G1 he hasn't won. Interesting to note that Oxted did not run at Ascot, whereas a couple of those who did like Hello Youmain and Marie's Diamond may just have found this race had come round too soon.
In the Superlative Master Of The Seas was, with a withering burst to take the race by 3 lengths from our pick Devious Company and Seventh Kingdom third.
Over at Ascot Marcus Tregoning think that Mohaather is the best miler he's had as he demolished the field in the Summer Mile to win by 3 ¾ lengths from San Donato 14/1 and Lord Glitters.
