In Swoop swooped and conquered at Hamburg on Sunday.
By the German sire Adlerflug but trained in France by F-H Graffard, In Swoop was in the capable hands off Ronan Thomas who guided his winning and record breaking ride. It was a race of surprises as the winner was on 14/1, the second Torquator Tasso on 22/1 and fourth Kespar on 30/1. Only one of the more fancied runners was Grocer Jack on 13/2.
The French had also raided the Holstein Cup when H-A Pantall's Half Light won from Song of Life and Sanora.
Virginia Joy looks to be a very promising filly who won the Mehl-Mulhens Trophy from Zamrud and For Pleasure, with favourite Dela fourth.
