With Umberto Rispoli now joining the list of jockeys who have tested positive to Covid-19 the effects are being felt from coast to coast.

Del Mar has cancelled their meetings for July 17-19 because of the number of jockeys who have tested positive.

At Saratoga only jockeys who have not ridden outside of New York will be permitted to ride, and there are several other jurisdictions imposing similar restrictions.

Add to this the suspension handed out to Bob Baffert after two of his horses – Charlatan and Gamine – tested positive to hydroxylidocaine.  The horses were disqualified and the prize money redistributed with Baffert handed a 15 day suspension commencing 1 August.  Baffert is appealing the suspension.
