At Del Mar Saturday we have the San Clemente Gr 2 over 1600m on the turf and Peter Miller saddles Laura's Light on 3/1 and She's So Special on 5/1. Also in the market Warren's Showtime is on 7/2. 11 runners.
The San Diego Handicap is also Gr 2 over 1700m with 6 runners and the headline here is the return of Maximum Security to the track. He's now with Bob Baffert with Cedillo riding and is on a not surprising quote of evens. Higher Power looks the next best with Prat riding for John Sadler.
Over at Saratoga the Gr 2 Ballston Spa sees the return off Sistercharlie with her trainer Chad Brown saying better late than never as she starts her 2020 campaign. She's on 2/5. Pletcher's Another Broad is on 6/5 with no jockey announced so far.
The Alfred G Vanderbilt is Gr 1 over 1200m with only 5 runners and a lot of interest. Steve Asmussen's Volatile is up in class but has won his last 3 by impressive margins and comes in to this on 4/5. The veteran Whitmore is one of 3 runners with a Gr 1 in their CV and is on 2/1.
