York's Ebor meeting starts Wednesday

3 minute read

It is still to be behind closed doors but there is some quality racing to be seen even if it has to be on the small screen.

Wednesday's group races start with the Acomb, G3 for 2yos over 1400m and there will be 8 going to post.  Appleby-Buick are here with Cloudbridge, by Hard Spun, who was impressive winning on debut and is 7/4.  Darvel is 7/2 for Kevin Ryan with Andrea Atzeni riding and Royal Scimitar 11/2 for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby.  One should always keep Mark Johnston's runners safe when up north and he has Gear Up on 11/2  with Silvestre de Sousa on board.

The Great Voltigeur is G2 over 2400m for the 3yos.  Gordon Stakes winner Mogul comes in on 2/1 for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore.  John Gosden saddles Darain on 11/4 with Oisin Murphy riding.  Roberto Escobarr is 13/2 for William Haggas and Tom Marquand and our roughie here is Juan Elcano who was third in the Dante on this track and is 12/1.

The Juddmonte International is a great G1 even though there are only 5 runners.  Ghaiyyath has answered every question so far and is 5/4 for Appleby-Buick.  Magical is 10/3 for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore, and we haven't given up on Kameko – he just needs a bit of luck.  7/2.

The weather may not be the best - rain is forecast but at this stage the going is good.
