Persian King the Monarch of the Moulin

3 minute read

In what we think was a record time, Persian King dominated the G1 at Longchamp on Sunday.

This was a welcome return to form on a surface that was much more to his liking.  Andre Fabre thus got his 7th win in the race and P-C Boudot his first.  Pinatubo was 1 ¾ lengths away in second and Circus Maximus third.  Fabre is looking to up the trip for Persian King while acknowledging him as a top miler.

The Prix La Rochette went to Go Athletico 17/2 by Goken with Sealway 5/1 by Galiway second and favourite Naval Crown third.

The Coupe Maisons-Lafitte went to Glycon with Villa Rosa 17/1 second and Les Vertus 10/1 third.

There was an upset in the Prince d'Orange when Chachanak on 22/1 won by a short head from Hurricane Dream and German raider Grocer Jack was third ahead of Dawn Intello.

The Prix Gladiateur which is a prep for the Cadran saw a convincing win from Called To The Bar.  Think Of Me was second and Sublimi probably unlucky in third as he seemed to lose his way in the straight.  Windstoss was up there for most of the race but faded within sight of the post.
