Doncaster victim of new COVID-19 regulations

3 minute read

Doncaster has suffered huge losses after last minute return to "No Public".

Doncaster had big bookings for their carnival but the new regulations have meant that only the Wednesday was able to be run with public present.  This is always a popular meeting especially the Saturday when the St Leger is the last classic of the year.

Thursday's card features two G2s for the girls.  The first is the May Hill for 2yo fillies over 1600m with a cast of 9.  Frankel's daughter Zabeel Queen tops the market on 6/4 following a good win on debut over 1400m.  Varian-Atzeni.

Indigo Girl is on 11/4 for Gosden/Dettori.  She's by Dubawi and also won on debut over 1600m.  Unbuntu raced well in Ireland and is by Fastnet Rock so an Aussie connenction.

Joseph has booked William Buick to ride and they are on 15/2.

An interesting runner here is Star of Emaraaty who is by Pride of Dubai and has been recently purchased by Teruya Yoshida.  She's on 10/1 for the Kevins and could be value having won a G3 at 66/1 last outing.

The Park Hill is for 3y+ over aprox. 3000m and has 7 runners.  Believe in Love -Varian/Atzeni is 6/4 as she goes for a 6th consecutive win.  She had some seconds before that, and is the sort of horse everyone would love to own.

Joseph O'Brien has grabbed William Buick for the ride on Pista who is on 7/2.  She's capable of causing an upset – we shall see!
