Brazilian jockey Jorge Ricardo has ridden his record winner just short of his 59th birthday.

"Ricardinho" has returned to Gavea in Brazil after 14 years based in Argentina and so got his record on his home track, where 43 years ago he rode his first winner.

It hasn't always been smooth sailing as he has had health problems in the past but his love of the sport has kept him going and while there have been some hints of retirement in recent years that still hasn't happened.
