A Triple Crown this year in Japan?

3 minute read

The Shuka Sho to be run in Kyoto on Sunday has a live chance for the fillies' triple crown.

Daring Tact, a daughter of Epiphaneai, has won the first two lengths and is odds-on to do collect the third leg and the triple Crown.  Kohei Matsuyama will be in the irons.

Challengers are led by Ria Amelia, a Deep Impact filly who has been improving with racing and recently won the G2 Rose.  She's on 7.8.

There are two horses with "win" in their name here – Win Marilyn  by Screen Hero won the Flora also at G2, and Win Mighty who is by our beloved Gold Ship – she was 3rd in the Oaks and was a bit unlucky in that race.

Our roughie here is Cravache d'Or who is second up this spell and previously ran 5th in the Rose.  Mirco Demuro rides and they are on 29.0.
