Joseph O'Brien's Baron Samedi under Seamie Heffernan took out the Prix du Consul de Paris G2 on heavy going over the 2200m.  Mare Australis 6/1 was a head away in second with Eudaimonia third 12/1 ahead of the more-fancied runners Dariyma and Nagano Gold.

The Prix Royal Oak was a real test of the stayers and it was Mark Johnston's Subjectivist who came out on top with Joe Fanning riding.  They defeated Valia and Holdthasisgreen who just nudged Princess Zoe out of third and our roughie Mister Nino fifth.

It was a very good weekend for Johnston as his Gear Up had won the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud on the Saturday.
