This is usually one of the most glamorous days on the Hong Kong calendar but this year of course it will be much more subdued.

Off the field that is – but there are two exciting races to look at including the G3 Sa Sa Ladies Purse.

The Asker Handicap is Class 2 over 1000m and here we like Gold Chest on.4.4.  Duke Wai is another speedy conveyance and he's on 5.5 and Winning Method is the current favourite on 4.2.  These figures can change by start time of course.  We have a roughie here – Winner Supreme who has won mainly on dirt and has bled a couple of times but we hope he is OK for this as he's very fast and 23.0 looks tempting.

The feature is over 1800m and see the return of last season's Horse of the Year Exultant.  While his main target is December and his trials have been ordinary he is a champ and brings his best game out on race days.  He's on 3.2 which isn't great value but he should at least go into the multiples.  Southern Legend one this race last year and is in good form and we like him in this – cannot understand why he is at 13.0 but if you can get that price take it.

Dances with Dragons is favoured but we prefer Savvy Nine who comes into this on a very lIght weight and will be guided by Karis Teetan so 5.3 is value.  Derbuy winner Furore is also in the mix and is on 7.00 with Moreira riding.
