The Tenno Sho Show

3 minute read

Back to Tokyo Sunday for the G1 Tenno Sho (Autumn)

That's the one that is over 2000m with the Spring version being run at Kyoto and over 3000m.

Sunday's version is notable for the turn of the star mare Almond Eye.  She won this race last year and seems to be the one to beat this year.  Christophe Lemaire as usual in the irons.  The most likely opposition comes from Chrono Genesis who is on 4.6 (Almond Eye being odds-on).  He won the Takarazuka Kinen by six lengths which was impressive.

Others that could be Danon Kingly, who has had a run of seconds in very good races, and is on 10.5 and Fierement who won the longer Spring Tenno Sho twice and is on 12.8.
