Jockey Club Day at Sha Tin

3 minute read

This is the last hurrah before the Internationals in December with the card featuring three G2 races.

The first of these comes at Race 3, the Mile, with just 7 starters.  It may be that Golden Sixty has frightened them all off as he looks to add another win to his impressive record.  There's a few negative thoughts running round but not nearly enough to deter us from endorsing the horse who is arguably Hong Kong's best horse at present.  He's on evens and the only way to make any money is to put him as the banker for some of the others.

They include Ka Ying Star on 17.0, Might Giant on 13.0 and Southern Legend.

Race 5 is the Sprint over 1200m and here the lovely grey (well, we think all greys are lovely) Hot King Prawn is in close rivalry for favouritism with Computer Patch at around 2.5.  On paper it should be between those two, with Big Time Baby fancied enough to give him odds of 12.6.  Stronger impressed at his last run but that was over the 1000m and this is tougher both in trip and competition but given that he should have improved from that run we'll add him to the mix on 16.0.

Race 7 is the Jockey Club Cup over 2000m with 9 runners.  Exultant is a top quality horse and has earned his odds-on quote.  Furore is seen as the most likely challenger and he's on 4.9 and we like Dances With Dragons enough to put him in the third spot on 9.1.
