Mile Championship at Hanshin

3 minute read

With international runners absent the Japanese milers will have an open go at Hanshin.

This should mean the way is clear for Gran Alegria to bring us more "alegria" should she collect her third G1 for the year after winning the Yasuda Kinen and the Sprinters'.  She's drawn perfectly in gate 4 and will have Christophe Lemaire on board so no surprises she is favourite on 1.8.

Salios has had 6 starts and finished either 1st or 2nd in all of them.  He's a 3yo taking on the big boys and comes from the top Hori-sensei yard and will have Mirco Demuro riding.  He's on 4.0.

Indy Champ won this last year and would love to repeat the effort at this track as well (previously the race was run at Kyoto).  He's on 8.7.

The fourth horse in single-figures is Admire Mars who went on to win the Hong Kong International Mile last year and comes in on 9.3.

Not the worst but just out of single-figures is Resistencia who won the NHK Mile but has been off on a long break after surgery.  He's reported to be working well and should be kept safe on 10.5 is you can get it.
