No real surprises at Sha Tin

The Jockey Club G2 races went off without any mega problems.

Golden Sixty was far too good for them in the Mile and while Ka Ying Star led and put up a brave show he was no match for the winner.  Southern Legend ran a respectable third and Mighty Giant perhaps a bit disappointing in fourth.

The lovely Hot King Prawn looked even more lovely as he sailed past the winning post and settled the argument with Computer Patch who had every chance but was not up to the finish of the winner. Third home was Rattan who had looked like a completely lost cause after blowing the start and was still last at the 200m but starting to rattle on home.  If he could get a decent start he could seriously challenge Hot King Prawn in the International Sprint.

Furore won the Cup passing a somewhat plodding Exultant who could only finish ¾ a length back.  This was not the Exultant of old.  Tony Cruz who trains both horses says that Furore will go to the Cup and Exultant the Vase.

The Fownes pair of Columbus County and Dances With Dragons finished third and fourth, acceptable if not world shattering.

Joao Moreira rode a treble on the day including two of the G2s.
