Her trainer Kunieda-sensei summed it up by saying "she has given us so much excitement and joy".  For the record that was G1 #9, the most of any Japanese horse, and brought her earnings to an equivalent of AUD 25 million.  Not quite as much as Winx but acquired over fewer starts.

She won by 1¼ lengths from the previously unbeaten Contrail with the previously unbeaten Daring Tact a neck away in third. As our colleague Scott Burton writes those two will, with luck, be able to provide us with two more years of top level racing.

Curren Bouquetd'or was not disgraced in fourth only a nose away from Daring Tact, and Glory Vase was a neck away in fifth.  They were the top 5 horses in the market and the result showed why.  It was 3 lengths back to World Premiere who lead the rest of the field home.

So thank you Almond Eye for the wonderful memories you have given us and may you be happy in your new career.  And thank you to all your wonderful team who looked after you.
