This G1 on the dirt used to be the Japan Cup Dirt
This is a much nicer name and it has the makings of a very interesting race with the absolute star on dirt Chrysoberyl up against a younger challenger in Café Pharoah.
Chrysoberyl won this race last year and has won all his starts since then so is going for a 7th consecutive win. He's odd on – 1.4 or thereabouts.
Challenger Café Pharoah (no prizes for guessing his sire) won the Sirius Stakes on this track and is going for a 4th consecutive win and with Christophe Lemaire riding. He's 6.1.
Gold Dream is a very consistent runner and is on 10.5, and if you want to go wider Chuwa Wizard and Clincher are both on 15.0.
