It was a white filly who won the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies G1 on Sunday.
It was an early Christmas present for the supporters of Sodashi, the first white horse to win a G1 in Japan. She's by a grey father and a white mother and you don't have trouble finding her in the race. Although this time finding her in the finish was harder as it was a very tight finish with Satono Reinas who had fought a duel with Sodashi coming down the straight but the winner showed a lot of character in holding on to the lead. Uberleben was only a neck away in third so it looks as if there could be some exciting races next year in the classics.
Sodashi isn't too keen on entering the gates so trainer Naosuke Sugai will be working on that and while still a little green in running this was her fourth start (and fourth win) and she is learning all the time,
