It was Largent who emerged the winner of the Fort Lauderdale.

He was not as well fancied as Halladay who tried to tear away with the race and left Largent and his jockey Paco Lopez in a great position to swoop.  Trainer Pletcher says he will wait to get them home before deciding what comes next but it could well be the Pegasus.

All three placegetters were outsiders as Doswell ran second on 15/1 and Breaking The Rules third.
