The weekend at Kempton

A couple of 20/1 winners and short-priced favourites going down it was all happening at Kempton.

Highlight of Saturday's card was the excellent win in the King George by Bryony Frost on Frodon.  She rode the Paul Nicholls trained runner a treat and got the 20/1 winner home by 2 ½ l over Waiting Patiently with fav Clan des Obeaux third.  Cyrname was pulled up.

Earlier the Skeltons produced a win in the Kauto Star with the talented Shan Blue too strong for the rest of the field and out-jumped The Big Breakaway.

Silver Streak won the Christmas Hurdle  and lowered the colours of Epatante decisively.

On Sunday the Skeltons returned another 20/1 winner when Nube Negra won the Desert Orchid and Altior had to settle for second, 3 ½ l behind.

The Chepstow races were abandoned and will be transferred to 9th January.  The course was a swamp.
