This is Race 7 on the card and has one of the most elegant trophies.

It's quite an interesting contest.  Over 2400m it can indicate future staying stars.  Douglas Whyte's Russian Emperor is the current favourite on 2.5 with Karis Teetan riding.  He's been working well and ticks a lot of boxes.  Panfield has pleased the trackwork folks and comes in here on 6.1 for Tony Millard with Joao Moreira in the irons. 

Two horses come in on light weights here – Charity Fun who will be ridden by Alexis Badel as Zac Purton cannot make the light weight and the horse is improving with every run and is on 6.6.  The other is Savaquin with Borges riding for Size and he's our roughie here on 23.0.  He's been working well and worth the e/w.

Good news our of Hong Kong on Thursday that jockey Neil Callan's appeal against his "manifestly excessive penalty" was successful and he will be able to ride in the final 13 meetings of the season.  The original ban was 28 meetings and this would have meant a very difficult time for Callan who has a family and children in school in Hong Kong.
