At Happy Valley on Wednesday the G3 went to Savvy Nine with a savvy ride from Christophe Soumillon.
This gave Douglas Whyte his first Group race as a trainer.
Soumillon approached Whyte for the ride after Savvy Nine's run under Ryan Moore in the International Jockeys contest. He understood the right time to push the buttons on his mount who duly responded and the rest as they say is history.
Glorious Dragon started favourite although he wasn't anything like that price when we did the preview. He finished second with Singapore Sling a good run for third and Harmony Victory fourth.
