After the trials at Fair Grounds on Saturday these two horses got the 50 points which should see them get into the Derby and Oaks.

The Risen Star was the vehicle for Mandaloun, a son of Curlin trained by Brad Cox and given a great ride by Florent Geroux who took him to the front and left Proxy 4/1 and Midnight Bourbon behind him.

The Rachel Alexandra was where Clairiere, another Curlin product, turned the tables on favourite Travel Column by a neck with Moon Swag third. 

At Santa Anita there was a Baffert trifecta in the Santa Monica with Merneith, by American Pharoah, winning from stablemates Golden Principal and Qahira.
