It was his first ride on World Premiere and his father had won this race in 1976.  World Premiere was off the track for nearly a year until Japan Cup 2020 and has slowly been working has way back to the top level.

As they came into the straight it looked as if Curren Bouquetd'or was going to get her long awaited win but the swampers were coming thick and fast and although she battled on gamely World Premiere dashed to the lead which was hotly contested by Deep Bond until at the end there was only ¾ length between them.  Curren Bouqetd'or held on for third with Aristoteles just a head away in fourth and Win Marilyn fifth.
