New course records were set in the 1000m and 1400m features at Sha Tin on Sunday.

Valiant Dream won the 1000m Amethyst Handicap in a new record time giving Karis Teetan a double on what was an emotional day for the Mauritian who dedicated his first win to his great friend compatriot Nooresh Juglal who tragically lost his life in a bad fall on Saturday.

The HKJC also paid tribute to the young Mauritian who had ridden in Hong Kong.

Multimillion looked like starting favourite until he was kicked by another horse before loading and was declared lame in his right hind leg.  Lucky More was ½ length away in second and Gold Chest finished third despite being blocked for a run.

Fantastic Treasure looks like being a real treasure for David Hayes and the connections as he was able to replace Golden Sixty's record for the 1400m and give jockey Chad Schofield his 200th winner by winning the Crystal Cl.2 handicap.  From the style of his win there should be no problem with going up in class and potentially trip as well. 

We were impressed with the run of E Star in second – both he and the winner came from near the back of the field with Fantastic Treasure taking the rails route and E Star coming down the outside.  Hinchinlove was third and Not Usual Talent fourth.  Roman Turbo did not seem to pick up in the straight and may be better at 1200m.
