Youngsters on show in Japan

3 minute read

This weekend there are two G2s for the 3yos.

Both have odds-on favourites heading their markets.  On Saturday at Hanshin there is the Tulip Sho for the 3yo fillies with Meikei Yell, a daughter of Mikki Isle, on 1.4 with Yutaka Take riding.  Elizabeth Tower by Kingman is on 9.7 and Tagano Diana by Leontes on 11.5.

At Nakayama on Sunday there's the Hochi Hai Yayoi Sho Deep Impact Kinen G2 over 2000m for the 3yo boys with 10 runners.  Danon The Kid, by Just A Way is odds-on at 1.2 and the rest you could use the sharp pin to find.  Next in the market is another Kingman product Schnell Meister on 6.6 and then it's out to 18.5 for Titleholder by Duramente on 18.5,

At Nakayama on Saturday there is the G3 Ocean Stakes for the sprinters over 1200m.  Curren Moe is on top here on 2.7 but we like Alpinism who has 2 c&ds in his CV and who just had his birthday this week – on 3.5.  A Will A Way was third in the Sprinter Stakes last year and is on 4.7 and a roughie here in Westerwald who is down in trip and won the Hida at Chukyo in December over 1400m.
