There was a tremendous battle in the G1 25 de Mayo at San Isidoro on Saturday.

The winner, under jockey Adrian Gianetti, managed to hold out former horse of the year Miriñique by half a neck after a thrilling duel down the straight.  Otro Planeto bravely held on to finish ½ length behind the stars, both of whom are expected to head to the Gran Premio Latino-Americano in Uruguay next October.  Miriñique has recently returned from a campaign in the US.
