A flowery day at Sha Tin

3 minute read

As a tribute to the Northern Hemisphere Spring the races today carry the names of flowers

Two that are of interest to us are Race 3 the Cornflower and Race 10 the Daisy, both Class 2.

The Cornflower is over 1000m and has 9 runners with John Size's Ping Hai Bravo the current favourite on 2.0, with Antoine Hamelin riding.  Duke Wai is always thereabouts and Paul O'Sullivan has booked apprentice Jerry Chau for the ride so gets the weight allowance.  They are on 2.8.  Both have received good trackwork reports.   Our pin landed on Baltic Success as the third pick – on 11.0 and drawn the outside which is generally handy.

The Daisy is over 1800m and has the full field of 14.  Super Football is on 2.4 for Ting-Teetan and then it is pretty open:  Savvy Nine whom we thought unlucky last start is on 8.6, Maximus on 13.0 and our roughie here is Flying Quest on 36.0.
