Quality over quantity in the King George and Queen Elizabeth at Ascot

3 minute read

There's a very small field in the King George G1 but quality abounds.

Love captured everything last year and won on her reappearance at Ascot.  She's favourite of course on 5/4 and Ryan Moore will parter her as usual.

Adayer won the Derby and this is his first outing since then.  William Buick returns to ride him and he's a beautiful strong son of Frankel but we always have reservations about the Derby form continuing on into open company so for us the 9/4 is a bit skinny.

We are going for an O'Brien quinella here and putting Broome who is the outsider of the field and has been wonderfully consistent all year both at home and away and what's not to like about 25/1?

Before that we have the Princess Margaret for the 2yo fillies.  This will be the 6th start for Desert Dreamer so let's hope she can keep it going.  She's on 11/4 with Oisin Murphy riding for Stuart Williams.

Nazanin and Nymphadora are both on 7/1.  The weather has been very hot and while thunderstorms are forecast their location isn't.  And as always with 2yos anything can happen.
