This year's edition was one of the best for a long time with 14 starters and victory again went to the Brits with Richard Fahey the trainer of the winner.  Soumillon gave a master class on weaving through the field and thus collected the trophy.

Andre Fabre's Godolphin colt Trident was second at 13/1 and Asymetric just nosed out Amor for third.

The Jean Romanet G1 for f&m went to the Gianluca Bietolini trained Grand Glory with Cristian Demuro in the irons and a starting price of 23/1.  That was just a short head in front of Audarya and Thundering Nights came thundering home in third.  We were warned that Ebaiyra was en route to bigger things and we cannot catch Lady Bowthorpe who was never in it.

The Prix de Pomone was a very soft win for Raabihah who finished a very comfortable 2 ½ lengths in front of Joie de Soir and Valia who started favourite third.

Happy to report that we picked the quinella in the Prix Kergolay with Skazino and Rip Van Lips – there was only a head in it.  Red Verdon stayed on for third.
