It's a long weekend in Japan and thankfully the typhoon has headed out to sea.

On Sunday it's the Rose Stakes at Chukyo and that's open to fillies and mares but has just got a field of 3yo fillies, with several daughters of King Kamehameha lining up.  One of these is the current top pick Tagano Passion, who will be ridden by Y. Iwata.  Cool Cat is by Screen Hero and is on 4.6 with Lemaire riding.  Art de Vivre and Andvaranaut are two more KK girls and are on 5.3 and 8.9.

On Monday at Nakayama the G2 St Lite Kinen over 2200m is an important prep on the road to the Japan Cup.  This is for 3yo and all colts here.  So Valiant is by Orfevre and will be ridden by Keito Tosaki.  Our dam used to back horses with "valiant" in the name so that makes it qualify for a slightly larger amount of the hard-earned.  3.2 is the current quote. Titleholder is by Duramente and on 4.0, Gratias by Heart's Cry is on 7.2 and Rain From Heaven is another Duramente and on 8.1.
