Despite the huge amount of rain that fell on Hong Kong the track got upgraded.

485.4 ml of rain fell on Friday and Saturday but the incredible ability of the track to get rid of water was again on show.  Apparently this is due to the sand layers under the track and the removal of grass clippings from the track amongst other things.

So by the time race 8 came around it was all systems go, except they didn't go so well for Hongkong Great who didn't make the frame and the win went to Tony Millard's Silver Fig who could be in consideration for a trip to Dubai next year.  Kurpany was 1 ½ lengths away in second and Main Star was third.  Matthew Chadwick won on board that one and had a great day as he rode a treble as well as this third.
