More possible horses for Del Mar

3 minute read

Following Saturday's races at Belmont and Keeneland a number of horses have gained entries to Breeders' Cup races.

Following his win in the Vosburgh at Belmont Following Sea could go to the BC Sprint but trained Pletcher doesn't want to commit just yet.  He beat Firenze Fire in that 1200m G2.

At Keeneland several races were "win and you're in".  The Woodford saw Golden Pal, now owned by Coolmore, at his best in beating Extravagant Kid by 2 ¼ lengths over 1100m on the turf.

Bell's The One underscored her class in winning the TBA over 1200m.

More of Chad Brown's runners seem to be heading in the right direction for the BC Turf races.  Blowout and Regal Glory quinellad the First Lady over 1600m and Empress Josephine was not a bad run for third and she is definitely heading to Del Mar.

Rattle N Roll won the Futurity over 1200m, but trainer Kenny McPeek is not going to commit either to going to California and may opt for something on his home track of Churchill Downs.

The Turf mile was won by the Brazilian bred In Love, who is trained by Paolo Lobo who trains Ivar who won last year.  Ivar himself ran fourth having been badly bumped in the straight.
