York in the Spring

3 minute read

With the good news that crowds are going to be allowed in again we head to York.

This meeting gets underway on Wednesday with the running of the G2 Duke of York Sprint and the Mudsidora for the fillies.

!2 runners lining up for 1200m Duke of York and it is an interesting line up.  Art Power looks good for this and is on 3/1.  We are then going wider with the Ayr Gold Cup winner Nahaar for William Haggas and Tom Marquand on 10/1 and even wider with Summerghand from David O'Meara's yard with James Doyle riding and 12/1 available.  He beat Oxted who is 10/3 here but doesn't seem the same as last season so far – that was in a G3 here.

The Musidora is for the 3yo fillies over 2100m and Teona was an impressive winner at Newcastle and is second favourite for the Oaks.  Trained by Roger Varian she will be in the hands of Andrea Atzeni and they are on 6/4.  Sir Michael Stoute's Noon Star has won her last two outings and will be ridden by Richard Kingscote.  They are on 7/4.  Mystery Angel won the Pretty Polly recently and is on 6/1 for this.
