Irish Pony Racing in trouble

3 minute read

This very popular program for the youngsters is finding it hard to get insurance for their races.

Many of Ireland's top jockeys have come up through the pony racing circuit and then they can continue on to the Race Academy and Centre of Education (RACE) when they turn 16.

Speaking personally we would have killed to have such a program in Australia when one was of a tender age and it seems totally incomprehensible that Horse Racing Ireland cannot continue to subsidise their insurance.
