In winning the Yorkshire Cup Stradivarius broke the record of Cirrus des Aigles for the most wins of group races in Europe.

Trainer John Gosden said that training the 8yo entire is a lot different to training an 8yo gelding but like everyone he was delighted with the win.  Next in his diary is the Ascot Gold Cup and possibly the Goowood Cup but they are going to take it one race at a time.

Saturday will see the running of the Lockinge G1 at Newbury down the straight 1600m run.  Baaeed is odds-on for this with William Haggas legging Jim Crowley on.  The next best are back to 6/1 for Mother Earth Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore and also on that quote Real World for Saeed bin Suroor and Dan Tudhope.

There is also a G3 the Aston Park over 2400m with only 6 runners.  Andrew Balding's Foxes Tale has had a run this prep an is fancied to get the money over Estraada.  David Probert rides the former and they are on 11/4 with Jim Crowley on the latter on 10/3.
