The Belmont Gr 1 on turf saw favourite Yibir defeated.

Highland Chief, who started his racing life with Paul Cole, is now with Graham Motion who was delighted with the win for both the horse and connections and also jockey Trevor McCarthy who got a first Gr 1.  Motion says the horse may go to Ascot where he has won previously.

Gufo was a length behind in second and Yibir had arguably more problems with the damp grass than he did from blowing the start.  He'll go home and prepare for the Sword Dancer at Saratoga in August.
