White Magic at Tokyo

The wonderful filly Sodashi is easy to spot in her races – she seems to be whiter than ever.

And you could see her just waiting to pounce as she came up the hill and from the 200m mark it was a case of "catch me if you can".  Fine Rouge tried to catch her bit Sodashi was too good and won by 2 lengths with Resistencia, who had blown out in the betting, giving her thoughts on that by running third.

Lei Papale started favourite but failed to run on – she may have a problem as she's better than this showing and Daring Tact ran well to finish 6th in her reappearance after injury.  Provided he comes out of this race OK she should go into the Little Black Book.

The first three in the race get entries into the Prix du Moulin and the Jacque Le Marois in France as well as the BC F&M turf.

Saturday's G2 Spring Cup went to Meikei Yell, the favourite from Sky Groove and Time to Heavens.

The Japanese horses are making travel plans – Yahagi-sensei's Bathrat Leon heads to the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and Ponthalassa will also head to Europe.
