Rosehill Race 1 - 11 Sweet Ava
This promising Snitzel filly held her ground well at just her third career start when third behind Sunlight in the G2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at this course two weeks ago, finding the line in the style of a youngster who will be well suited over this extra trip.
She holds ample scope for improvement and if you take note of how the fillies dominated the placings in the Golden Slipper (Sunlight third) you have to like her chances against the colts under these conditions, especially as she is getting 3.5kg off the topweight Spin.
Rosehill Race 3 - 11 New Universe
Just missed in a tight finish when third behind the protest winner Dothraki in the G3 Maurice McCarten Stakes over 1100m at this course two weeks ago when he finished hard from midfield to add to his excellent in the money record on his home track.
This has been his target race as he stays on the limit weight and should relish the extra 100m as there is ample early speed to see him enjoy a favourable passage behind the genuine tempo.
Rosehill Race 9 - 13 Beau Geste
Classy 3YO takes on older horses for the second time in successive starts after resuming with a charging second over 1200m at Warwick Farm that was the subject of a stewards inquiry.
Drops 6kg off that run and the step to 1400m second-up will be ideal, noting that he was a Rosehill winner second-up in the spring on his way to luckless Group performances including fourths in the Carbine Club Stakes and Sandown Guineas at the Melbourne carnival.
Well placed in this company on that form.
