Epsom Downs Race 3 - 7 Old Persian - The European Summer is right on the doorsteps and we’re only three weeks from Royal Ascot.

However the biggest weekend of the year is this one at Epsom as they run two of the Classics – the Oaks on Friday and probably the most famous race of them all, the Derby on Saturday.

We’ve found our best on the Oaks card but it isn’t in the fillies feature. We’re going for a ‘tough as nails’ mile and half horse in the time honoured Coronation Cup in the shape of Old Persian.

He was around the mark as a 3yo last season but on both occasions this time around, has been very strong late at Meydan during the carnival.

Drawing away in the Sheema Classic, he gave the Japanese contingent a bit of a domination over the last furlong.

In a Coronation Cup not containing a strong WFA star, we think the Godolphin runner is great value near $4.
