On the horse: "He'd drawn bad barriers at his last two starts and was probably a little bit underdone first-up. We knew he was rock hard fit today so it was just a matter of leading and then see if he could hang on.
On the ride: "It was a 10 out of 10 ride from Jordy, great for everybody and great for the team."
Winning Jockey: Jordan Childs
On the win: "I spoke to Gai this morning and the team has always been positive. . He just bungled the start a little bit and jumped in the air but then he was quick into stride. The main thing was to get him into a rhythm and get his breathing right. He felt really comfortable underneath me, got a bit of pressure at the home corner and toughed it out really well. Gai and Adrian and team and Alva here in Melbourne great job.
On conditions: "It's not too bad at the moment (wind), the breeze is nice."
