Racing Victoria has brought forward the starting times for the first month of night racing commencing with the Moir Stakes meeting at The Valley

With attendance currently prohibited on Victorian racetracks because of COVID-19 restrictions, RV has elected to bring forward the start of the meetings to finish an hour earlier than the previously agreed 9.45pm.

The opening four meetings scheduled for the night series, commencing on Friday night through until October 15, will start at 5.15pm and finish by 8.45pm with 30-minute intervals between races.

Race times for meetings beyond October 15 will be determined at a later point when more information around COVID-19 restrictions is available.

The Valley opens the season on Friday with the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) which will be the seventh of eight races at 8.15pm.

Other Friday night meetings to be conducted over the opening month are on October 1 at The Valley, the Pinker Pinker Plate meeting at Cranbourne on October 8 and October 15 at Pakenham
