Greg Ryan moved closer to his own national riding record of 210 winners in a season when he notched his 200th winner for 2002-03 at Coonabarabran.

The Dubbo-based jockey was successful aboard Sports Affair in the Carlton Draught Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1600m).

In town, Darren Beadman is poised to break Larry Cassidy's Sydney mark of 139-1/2 set in 1997-98 as he powers his way to his third jockeys' premiership.

Beadman took his season tally to 133 with his win on the John Hawkes-trained Seances at Rosehill on Saturday. His nearest rival is Chris Munce on 94.

The win by Seances was one of two for Hawkes at Rosehill and he is now just 4-1/2 wins behind Gai Waterhouse who is on 145 and both have the Sydney record in their sights.

The standard of 156 was set by Waterhouse's father, the late TJ Smith, in 1975-76.

There are 12 metropolitan meetings left this season with the last at Warwick Farm on July 30.
