Chinchilla Rose, formerly prepared by Steele Ryan, has been sent south by managing owner Ken Turner to chase the spring three-year-old races, citing lack of options in both Brisbane and Sydney as the reason.

“Her run in the Golden Slipper was outstanding being beaten only a couple of lengths,” Turner told 4TAB.

“The fillies and mares are very well catered for down south. She’s about six weeks away from racing and will chase the feature three–year-old races there.”

Turner said the Golden Rose in Sydney was also under consideration but being in September might come too soon.

The grey filly was an impressive winner on debut at Doomben before winning the Sweet Embrace Stakes at Randwick.

She then had no luck in the Golden Slipper but ran on from the tail to finish seventh, beaten only 2.3 lengths, behind Forensics.

Chinchilla Rose, by Lion Hunter from the Last Tycoon mare Chiara, is a sister to stakes winners Leone Chiara and Ferocity, both of which O’Brien trained.
