Trained at Dubbo by Peter Nestor and ridden by his apprentice son Kody Nestor, Izababe easily coped with the topweight of 58kg to record his ninth win from 12 starts.

Ridden confidently in the lead, [nj]Izababe[/n] ran away at the finish to beat Kwilas Law by two lengths with Coonamble Cup winner Prussian Secret third.

Izababe has won five of his seven starts this preparation, rising through the classes to now be established as one of the most talented country-trained horses in NSW.

The Zariz gelding's only defeats were in two starts in Sydney but Nestor is certain he will in the metropolitan area next preparation.

This preparation Izababe won successive races at Coonamble, Dubbo and Muswellbrook before being unplaced at Canterbury.

He was then won the Dubbo Gold Cup before another failure at Rosehill.
