Prepared by Sandra McCormack at Armidale, the 11-time winning seven-year-old tackles the Quirindi Auto Electrical Service Benchmark 65 Hcp (1200m).

McCormack expects the gelding to improve sharply on its first-up performance when 5.2 lengths sixth to All Again over 1200m at Tamworth on June 3.

“He needs to run to get ready for the Bowraville Cup,” McCormack said. “That's the race we've picked out for him.

“His coat's still woolly, we haven't clipped him, it's been too cold, but he's definitely tightened up since Tamworth.

“I was happy enough with his first run back. We weren't able to trial him or give him a jump out.

“He generally improves second up.”

The Bowraville Cup will b run over 1370m on July 3.

Seen Im, the winner of $136,320, has been a versatile performer winning from 1100m to 1412m and has two wins and two second's from nine second up attempts.

“He's come back in good order. Right now the horse is jumping out of his skin,” McCormack said.

“He's a tough old bugger, a very solid horse and loves his racing.

To offset Seen Im's 63kg impost, McCormack has engaged 3kg claiming apprentice Daniel Pitomac.

McCormack will also saddle up new stable acquisition Status King in the B & B Hair Studio Class 1 (1200m) with Geoffrey Snowden in the saddle.

“It's his second run for us. He's going along nicely. Hopefully he can race well tomorrow and come up to the mark,” McCormack said.

* AT COFFS HARBOUR on Thursday top Grafton trainer John Shelton will be counting on Suchabimbo to use his speed from the barriers over the 811m scamper in the Watt Formwork Class 3 Hcp.

“He's as horse with plenty of early speed, he can get along quickly,” Shelton said. “I'm not worried about the trip, he'll handle that, the barrier (14) though might be a problem.

“Hopefully being wide might be the place to be.”

Two starts back at Casino on May 27, Suchabimbo pinged the lids to lead throughout for a dominant four length win then last start at Grafton on June 10, the son of Nidan trailed the leaders before chiming in at the 200m going down a length to the promising Landucan in a 1000m Class 3 handicap.

Suchabimbo is named after the late Grafton trainer Sucha Singh and raced by a syndicate headed by Adam Bancroft including Singh's son, Mitchell.

“He's been ultra consistent, going real good this time in,” Shelton said. “He had a few foot issues (pedal bone) but we've tried different shoeing and it's rectified the problem.

“He's hard fit. The horse is good, trained on terrific.”

Stable rider Matthew Paget takes over the reins tomorrow after Chris Whiteley and Terry Treichel have been aboard at Suchabimbo's last two starts.

Shelton is eyeing several minor races for the gelding during the Grafton July carnival.
