Race meetings on the NSW north coast have been hit by heavy rain with Friday's Port Macquarie fixture postponed and Sunday's Bowraville Cup meeting subject to a track inspection on Friday.

The Bowraville track was inspected by Racing NSW stewards on Thursday after 120mm of rain this week.

They advised that Sunday's meeting is in doubt due to surface water over many sections of the track.

They will conduct another inspection at 3pm on Friday to determine if the meeting will proceed.

The Port Macquarie meeting was postponed on Thursday due to the state of the track after more than 75mm of rain.

Further north the meeting set down for Ipswich today has been abandoned due to the weather and state of the track.
