Gai Waterhouse filly Forget Me Not has been euthanised after breaking down in a Warwick Farm barrier trial on Friday morning.

In one of the most anticipated trials of the new season the beautifully bred filly, who cost $910,000 at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale, was pulled up by jockey Tommy Berry shortly after the gates opened and found to have a complete fracture above the hock.
She was euthanised shortly after.
Forget Me Not was by Encosta De Lago out of Amelia’s Dream, the one-time juvenile star who was also trained by Waterhouse.
Amelia’s Dream won the 2008 Silver Slipper by 6 ½ lengths and was well supported to win that year’s Golden Slipper before she pulled up lame and was retired, unbeaten in two starts.
She’s still yet to produce a foal that’s made it to the races. Prior to giving birth to Forget Me Not she was put to More Than Ready, but lost the foal.
Waterhouse is in Melbourne preparing More Joyous, Pierro and Proisir for Saturday’s $3m Cox Plate.
