Recent Chris Waller stable addition Illo will have to snap a 663-day winless run to win this afternoon’s $140,000 Wagga Gold Cup.

The ex-Bart Cummings galloper is rated a $4.40 favourite with TAB Sportsbet after his slashing third in the Doncaster Prelude last month at Randwick.

Punters are confident Illo can overcome his winless run which stretches back 663 days. He’s yet to win since moving to Australia, having last saluted at Cologne in Germany, back in July of 2011.

Stablemate Moriarty is second favourite at $5.50 with Victorian Auld Burns also well fancied at $6.50.
