The seven-time Macau premiership winner will saddle his first starter since his decision to return to Sydney and establish a stable at Rosehill.

Moore’s stable opened on August 1 but has been under the care of his son Nicholas while he remained in Macau in a bid to win an eighth premiership.

Racing NSW gave Moore permission to remain in Macau until the season ends this weekend.

The stable’s Scone runner is Shengli, to be ridden by Mitchell Bell in a three-year-old maiden over 1300m.

Shengli has joined the Moore stable from Paul Messara after he decided to cull his numbers to concentre on managing Arrowfield Stud.

The daughter of Choisir is part owned by Arrowfield and won a trial at Muswellbrook last month before the stable switch.

The Scone meeting also marks the return to NSW of South Australian jockey Chad Lever.

Lever was riding in NSW last season but took a break in April to return to Adelaide for an extended holiday.

“I was sick of wasting and the body told me it was time to give it a rest,” Lever said.

“I started riding again at Morphetville two weeks ago just to get my eye back in.

“It was always my intention to come back to Sydney and link up with Sam Kavanagh again.

“My body feels good now and I am going to ride around the the 55kg mark.”

Gold Coast based trainer Toby Edmonds and jockey Jackson Morris will also be making rare appearances at the Scone meeting.

Edmonds and Morris are making a flying visit with Quest For Peace before farewelling the mare.

Quest For Peace is owned by Ramsey Pastoral and will be retired after this race to broodmare duties at Scone’s Turangga Farm.

Edmonds originally trained out of Scone but left in 1994, first to Sydney and then the Gold Coast, and has received good support from Stuart Ramsey over the years.

Quest For Peace ran second in the Listed Princess Stakes at Eagle Farm in April and resumed from a spell to win over 1500 metres in mid week company at Eagle Farm last month before a failure in Saturday company at the same track when she pulled up sore.
